“Shoe” stars Peter Coonan as Vince who is about to throw himself from a high bridge just as soon as he can escape the attentions of an interfering beggar, Probie, played by Pat Kinevane.

“Shoe” was shortlisted (to the last 10) for an Oscar in the Live Action Short category of the 2011 Academy Awards.  It also won Best Irish Short at the Corona Fastnet Film Festival 2011, Best Short Screenplay at the Vail Film Festival (Colorado) 2009, and Second Prize in the Short Screenplay section of the Champion Screenwriting Competition (Los Angeles) 2009.

“Shoe” was written, directed and scored by me, the Director of Photography was Dave Grennan, and it was produced by Seamus Byrne of Zanita Films.  ”Shoe” was funded by the Irish Film Board as part of their Signatures programme.
